Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–3 years of retail clerk experience required; lead experience preferred.
• Attainment of required local and state food handling certifications, if applicable.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandising guidance.
• Willingness to obtain required certifications in food handling.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain correct perishable stock levels based on store volume using listed tools.
• Manage perishables, including Produce, Fresh Meat, Packaged Meats, Dairy, Frozen Food, Bread, and Thaw and Sell Bakery products.
• Train associates in presentation, freshness, and pricing standards for perishable areas.
• Train associates in safe handling of food in compliance with rules and regulations.
• Assist in scheduling coverage and ensure adequate staffing.
• Assess work completion and follow up with associates on performance.
• Record perishable markdowns and analyze causes to prevent recurrences.
• Record inventory levels and ensure sanitation with Cleaning Schedule.
• Support Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager in store operations and compliance.
