Dollar General is seeking a Perishable Department Manager to oversee Produce, Fresh Meat, Dairy, Frozen, and Bakery categories. You will ensure fresh stock, engaging displays, and high-quality customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include training associates, maintaining inventory levels, following sanitation and safety rules, and collaborating with Store Manager on scheduling. Prior lead or grocery experience is preferred.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2–3 years of retail clerk experience; lead experience preferred.
• Attainment of required local and state food handling certifications, if applicable.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations and handle cash procedures.

Responsabilidades

• Maintain correct perishable stock levels based on store volume using the following tools.
• Assist in training assigned associates in proper presentation, freshness and pricing standards for all perishable areas.
• Assist in training assigned associates in proper and safe handling of food in compliance with rules and regulations.
• Assist in training assigned associates in the proper execution of hourly recovery standards to model store standards.
• Train assigned associates in the proper stocking and rotation of Perishable products.
• Assist Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager in ensuring adequate scheduling coverage.
• Assess work completion and follow up with associates regarding performance.
• Record Perishable Markdowns and analyze causes to prevent recurrences.
• Train in proper grading and re-packaging in produce to minimize MDs.
• Accurately record inventory levels as requested by the Store Support Center.
• Ensure sanitation standards and train associates in the Perishable departments using Cleaning Schedule.
