Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a dedicated Store Perishables Lead to supervise the Produce, Meat, Dairy, and Bakery departments under the Store Manager. You will ensure fresh inventory, appealing merchandise, and exceptional customer service while protecting assets and maintaining safe operations.

You will mentor associates, manage stock levels, and collaborate with the Store Manager to optimize perishables performance and profitability across the department.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Attainment of required local and state food handling certifications, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in ensuring financial integrity of the store through cash accountability and key control.
• Maintain correct perishable stock levels using provided tools and guides.
• Train associates in proper presentation, freshness, and pricing standards for perishables.
• Record inventory levels and perform markdowns to minimize losses.
• Ensure compliance with sanitation standards and food handling rules.
