Job summary

Dollar General in Florida is seeking a dedicated leader to manage the Perishable Departments, including produce, meats, dairy, bakery, and more. You will support the Store Manager with inventory, pricing, and strong customer service while maintaining a safe, compliant work environment and protecting company assets.

You will train associates on presentation, freshness, and proper food handling, maintain stock levels, and assist with daily operations to run a profitable store.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Previous lead experience and/or grocery store experience preferred.
• Attainment of required local and state food handling certifications, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager with inventory management and merchandising presentation.
• Maintain correct perishable stock levels based on store volume using provided tools.
• Train assigned associates in proper presentation, freshness and pricing standards for perishable areas.
• Train associates in proper and safe handling of food in compliance with applicable rules and regulations.
• Record Perishable Markdowns and analyze causes to prevent recurrences.
• Accurately record inventory levels as requested by the Store Support Center.
• Ensure customers' needs and requests are addressed efficiently and timely.
• Maintain sanitation standards and train associates in Perishable departments.
