Job summary

Dollar General in Florida seeks a Perishable Department Lead to manage Produce, Meat, Dairy, Bakery and other perishable areas with focus on stock, presentation and customer service. You will assist the Store Manager with perishable inventory, planogram adherence, pricing standards and staff training, while ensuring safety and compliance.

Prior retail supervisory experience and food handling certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Previous lead experience and/or grocery store experience preferred.
• Attainment of required local and state food handling certifications, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Manage Perishable Departments including produce, fresh meat, dairy, frozen foods, bread and bakery items.
• Assist Store Manager with perishable inventory management, stock levels, and pricing standards.
• Train associates in proper stocking, presentation, and safety of perishable products.
• Record perishable markdowns and analyze causes to reduce recurrences.
• Ensure customers' needs and requests are addressed efficiently and on time.
