Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Perishable Department Supervisor to oversee produce, meat, dairy, bakery and other perishable lines. You will support the Store Manager with inventory accuracy, merchandising, and customer service, while ensuring safe working conditions and asset protection across the department.

You will train associates on proper stocking, rotation, and food handling, and collaborate on planograms and pricing to maximize freshness and sales.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or strongly preferred.
• Experience in retail and supervisory responsibilities preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret documents and guidelines.
• Knowledge of perishable inventory principles and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in maintaining financial integrity through cash accountability and security practices.
• Maintain correct perishable stock levels using sales and inventory tools.
• Train associates on perishable presentation, freshness, and pricing standards.
• Record inventory levels and perishable markdowns, identify causes, and take corrective action.
• Ensure sanitation standards and safe handling of food in perishable departments.
