Job summary

Dollar General seeks a dedicated Perishable Department Supervisor to oversee produce, dairy, meats, and bakery with Store Manager guidance. You will manage inventory, merchandising, and customer service to ensure freshness, value, and safety across all perishable areas.

Responsibilities include maintaining stock levels, training associates, enforcing sanitation rules, and collaborating with the Store Manager to protect assets and maximize sales in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Attainment of required local and state food handling certifications, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in maintaining financial integrity through cash control.
• Maintain correct perishable stock levels using planning tools and guides.
• Train associates in freshness, presentation and pricing standards for perishable areas.
• Record inventory levels and perishable markdowns; analyze causes and corrective actions.
• Ensure sanitation standards and training for Perishable departments per Cleaning Schedule.
• Assist with other operational areas as directed by Store Manager.
