Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Perishable Department Supervisor to support the Store Manager in managing produce, meat, dairy, bakery and related perishable areas. You will oversee inventory, security, safety, and merchandising to maximize sales and customer satisfaction.

The role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to train staff on fruit/vegetable and meat handling standards in a fast-paced store environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Previous lead experience and/or grocery store experience preferred.
• Attainment of required local and state food handling certifications, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in maintaining financial integrity and cash accountability.
• Ensure perishable stock levels and merchandising standards.
• Train associates in proper safety, handling, and product presentation.
