Job summary

Dollar General operates a chain of convenient stores and seeks a Perishable Manager to oversee Produce, Meat, Dairy, Frozen, Bread, and bakery sections. You will drive inventory accuracy, attractive merchandising, and excellent customer service while safeguarding assets and following required procedures.

You will lead staff in proper stocking, rotation, and sanitation, train associates on pricing and display standards, and support scheduling and store operations to meet company expectations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two to three years of retail clerk experience.
• Previous lead experience and/or grocery store experience preferred.
• Attainment of required local and state food handling certifications, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Perishable Departments including Produce, Fresh Meat, Packaged Meats, Dairy, Frozen Food, Bread, and bakery items.
• Maintain correct perishable stock levels and ensure proper merchandising and pricing.
• Train and supervise associates in presentation, freshness, and safety standards.
• Ensure sanitation, safety, and compliance with food handling rules.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling coverage and performance follow-up.
