Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Retail Perishable Supervisor to manage the produce, meat, dairy, bakery, and related perishables. You will support the Store Manager with inventory control, merchandising, customer service, and safety compliance to protect assets and ensure policy adherence.

You will train associates in proper stocking, pricing, and food handling, while maintaining perishable stock levels and reviewing markdowns to minimize losses. Strong supervisory skills desired.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret diagrams, safety rules and procedures manuals.
• Ability to perform basic math and percentages for inventory and pricing.
• Capable of operating cash register and generating reports.
• Understand business trends from operating statements and sales data.
• Knowledge of cash handling, deposits, and security practices.
• Familiar with plan-o-gram and merchandising guidance.
• Willing to obtain required food handling certifications.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in ensuring financial integrity through cash accountability and security practices.
• Follow SOPs, handbooks, and communications to maintain standards.
• Maintain perishable stock levels using various ordering guides and reports.
• Train associates in merchandising, freshness, and pricing standards.
• Train in safe handling of food and proper stocking/rotation of perishables.
• Record inventory levels and perishable markdowns, analyze causes, take corrective action.
• Ensure customer needs are addressed promptly and maintain sanitation standards.
• Assist in other operational areas as directed by the Store Manager.
