Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Perishable Department Supervisor to lead the produce, meat, dairy, and bakery areas. You will help manage inventory, ensure freshness and pricing standards, and deliver strong customer service in a fast-paced store environment.

The role supports the Store Manager in daily operations, staff training, and adherence to safety policies. Previous retail and supervisory experience is preferred, with food handling certifications as applicable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of retail experience and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Previous lead experience and/or grocery store experience preferred.
• Attainment of required local and state food handling certifications, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in maintaining inventory accuracy and perishable stock levels.
• Train associates on freshness, pricing, and display standards.
• Ensure compliance with food handling rules and safety procedures.
• Maintain cash accountability and security practices.
• Support customer service and respond to shopper needs efficiently.
