Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Perishable Department Supervisor to lead produce, meat, dairy, bakery and related areas under the Store Manager's supervision. You will help manage inventory, ensure appealing displays, and deliver quality customer service while upholding safety standards.

The role requires training staff in proper perishables handling, rotation, and pricing, with emphasis on cash accountability and adherence to company policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Previous lead experience and/or grocery store experience preferred.
• Attainment of required local and state food handling certifications, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager with cash accountability and security practices.
• Maintain correct perishable stock levels using current tools and guides.
• Train assigned associates in proper presentation, freshness and pricing standards for perishable areas.
• Record perishable markdowns and analyze causes to prevent recurrences.
• Train staff in proper handling, stocking and rotation of perishable products.
• Ensure customer needs and requests are addressed efficiently.
• Assist with sanitation standards and training in Perishable departments.
• Assist with other operational areas as directed by the Store Manager.
