Job summary

Dollar General Store is seeking a Perishable Department Supervisor to lead produce, meat, dairy, bakery, and related areas. You will manage inventory, merchandising, and customer service with emphasis on freshness and safe operations.

You will partner with the Store Manager to ensure proper stock, pricing, and compliance with food handling rules, training staff to uphold standards in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1 year retail experience with some supervisory exposure preferred.
• Previous lead or grocery store experience is a plus.
• Local and state food handling certifications if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager with cash accountability and security practices.
• Maintain perishable stock levels using store planning tools.
• Train associates in proper perishable handling, freshness, and pricing standards.
• Record inventory levels and monitor markdowns to minimize losses.
• Ensure customer needs are addressed promptly and professionally.
