Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Perishable Department Supervisor to lead the produce, meat, dairy, bakery and frozen sections under Store Manager supervision. You will drive inventory accuracy, pricing and merchandising while maintaining a safe, compliant environment.

You will train associates on proper presentation and freshness standards, ensure food-handling compliance, and deliver quality customer service in a busy retail setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Attainment of required local and state food handling certifications, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in ensuring the financial integrity of the store through strict cash accountability, key control, and adherence to company security practices and cash control procedures.
• Maintain correct perishable stock levels based on store volume using the following tools: Produce Order guide, Fresh Meat Recap and Order Guide, Milk Sales history and order guide, Vendor Order Guide, Bread order planning and stales recap.
• Train assigned associates in proper presentation, freshness and pricing standards for all perishable areas and in proper and safe handling of food in compliance with applicable rules and regulations.
• Record Perishable Markdowns, while analyzing causes and taking corrective action to prevent recurrences and ensure proper grading and re-packaging in produce to minimize markdowns.
• Accurately record inventory levels as requested by the Store Support Center and ensure customers' needs and requests are addressed efficiently.
