Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Perishable Department Supervisor to manage produce, meat, dairy, and bakery sections. You will support the Store Manager with inventory, merchandising, and safe operations to protect assets and customers.

Responsibilities include training associates, ensuring perishable freshness, and addressing customer needs promptly while maintaining compliance with all food handling rules and company policies.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedures manuals.
• Ability to perform basic math and percentages for daily operations.
• Ability to learn and operate cash register functions and generate reports.
• Knowledge of cash handling, deposits, and cashier accountability.
• Know-how to follow plan-o-gram and merchandising guidance.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager with cash accountability and security practices.
• Maintain correct perishable stock levels using provided guides and orders.
• Train associates in proper stocking, rotation, and freshness standards.
• Record perishable markdowns and analyze causes to prevent recurrences.
• Ensure sanitation standards and staff training in the Perishable departments.
• Support other operational areas as directed by Store Manager.
