Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Perishable Department Lead to oversee produce, meat, dairy, bakery, and related areas. You’ll partner with the Store Manager on inventory, pricing, and customer service to drive safe, efficient store operations.

You’ll train and mentor associates in perishable handling, plan-o-gram adherence, and stock rotation while ensuring compliance with sanitation and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and cash controls.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations for accuracy.
• Experience in inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Understanding of plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Ability to train and supervise associates in perishable areas.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in maintaining safety and perishable standards.
• Maintain perishable stock levels using key ordering tools.
• Record inventory levels and help with audits.
• Train associates on stocking, freshness, and pricing.
