Dollar General is seeking a Perishable Department Manager to oversee Produce, Fresh Meat, Dairy, Frozen and Bakery areas. You will manage inventory, drive accuracy in stock, pricing and presentation, and ensure a safe, customer-focused store environment.

You will train staff, schedule coverage, and monitor compliance with sanitation rules and company SOPs to protect assets and service standards.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic math (add/subtract/percentages) for tills and inventory.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.
• Ability to perform cash register functions.
• Knowledge of cash, facility and safety control policies and practices.
• Effective interpersonal and oral & written communication.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of company policies and procedures in SOPs and handbooks.
• Ability and willingness to obtain required certifications in food handling.

Responsabilités

• Maintain correct perishable stock levels based on store volume.
• Train associates in perishable standards and safe handling.
• Assist scheduling coverage and manage perishable departments.
• Record perishable markdowns and analyze causes to prevent recurrences.
• Ensure inventory levels are accurately recorded and compliant.
• Maintain sanitation standards and follow the Cleaning Schedule.
