Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Perishable Department Leader to oversee produce, meat, dairy, bakery and frozen goods. You will support the Store Manager with inventory, merchandising, and customer service to ensure a safe, efficient shopping environment.

You will help train associates in freshness, pricing standards, and proper handling of food, while maintaining daily communications with customers to meet expectations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Previous lead experience and/or grocery store experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage Perishable Departments including produce, meat, dairy, bakery to ensure quality and profitability.
• Assist Store Manager with inventory management and merchandise presentation.
• Train associates in proper stocking, freshness, and pricing standards.
