Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Perishable Department Lead to oversee the perishables including produce, dairy, meats, and bakery. You will assist the Store Manager with inventory, merchandising, pricing, and customer service, while ensuring safety and policy compliance.

You will train associates, manage stock levels, and monitor markdowns to protect assets and maximize profitability in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Previous lead experience and/or grocery store experience preferred.
• Attainment of required local and state food handling certifications, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in maintaining financial integrity through cash accountability and security practices.
• Maintain correct perishable stock levels using planograms and stock guides.
• Train associates in proper perishable presentation, freshness, and pricing standards.
• Record inventory levels and perishable markdowns; analyze causes and take corrective action.
• Ensure compliance with sanitation standards and food handling regulations, and support customer service.
