Job summary

SCA Health is hiring a Registered Nurse for the PreOp PACU unit in California. The role involves assessing patients before and after surgery, interpreting monitors, and developing perianesthesia plans of care.

You will manage recovery across anesthesia modalities, provide pain control, and communicate patient status throughout the perioperative continuum. Qualified candidates hold nursing licensure, at least one year of PreOp/PACU experience, and ACLS/PALS certifications as required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
• One year of Pre Operative or PACU experience required.
• Medical / surgical nursing experience.
• Current state licensure to practice within good standing.
• ACLS, BCLS (or ACLS) certification within 90 days of employment.
• PALS certification required when pediatric care is included.

Responsibilities

• Promote the mission, vision, and values of SCA Health.
• Assess preoperative and postoperative status per facility policies.
• Interpret information from monitors and describe disease physiology when needed.
• Develop an individualized perianesthesia plan of care and implement it.
• Prepare for and manage patient recovery from anesthesia across various modalities.
• Provide pain management, monitor vitals, and ensure patient safety.
• Communicate patient status during perioperative care and participate in hand-offs.
