Job summary

SCA Health is actively hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for the PreOp/PACU role. The RN will assess patients pre- and post-operatively, interpret monitors, and implement individualized care plans. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe recovery, discharge planning and optimal patient outcomes.

The position requires nursing licensure, 1 year of PreOp/PACU experience, and certifications (BLS/BCLS, ACLS; PALS if pediatrics are involved).

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
• One year of Pre Operative or PACU experience.
• Current state licensure to practice as a nurse in good standing.
• BLS/BCLS certification within 90 days of employment.
• ACLS certification within 90 days of employment.
• PALS certification is required when pediatric care is included in the facility scope within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Promote the mission, vision, and values of SCA Health.
• Assess preoperative and postoperative status according to policies to include cardiovascular, respiratory, neurological, and hemodynamic status.
• Interpret information from monitors and describe pathophysiology of disease processes.
• Apply discharge criteria and transfer planning per policy.
• Develop and implement perianesthesia care plans.
• Provide perioperative care across anesthesia techniques and procedures.
• Coordinate hand-offs and communicate patient status to the team.
• Collaborate with care teams and participate in quality improvement projects.
