Job summary

MercyOne Dubuque Medical Center in Dubuque, IA is seeking an Operating Room Registered Nurse to provide intraoperative patient care, both scrub and circulating, per established guidelines. The role serves neonate to geriatric patients and supports mission-driven care.

The position requires on-site work with day shifts (6:30 am – 5:00 pm), 1.0 FTE, with on-call weekends/holidays and a 30-minute response time. RN licensure in IA and BLS are mandatory.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing required.
• BSN preferred.
• Current Iowa RN license; MercyOneGenesis or Illinois license acceptable with multi-state endorsement within 12 months of hire.
• Operating Room experience preferred.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Mandatory Reporter training within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Scrubs and circulates on cases independently.
• Prepares for surgical cases efficiently, coordinating needs of patient, surgeon, anesthesia, and OR team.
• Maintains aseptic technique and safe environment for patient and staff.
• Documents surgical details and disposition of specimens.
• Participates in department meetings and performance improvement activities.
