Job summary

MercyOne Central Iowa in West Des Moines is seeking a part-time perioperative nurse to provide patient care during the intraoperative phase in scrub and circulating roles. The position covers neonate to geriatric patients and requires being scheduled for call, weekends, nights, and holidays.

You will prepare for cases, maintain aseptic technique, monitor equipment, and communicate with the team and families.

Qualifications

• Perioperative nursing experience required.
• Scrub and circulating roles in intraoperative care.
• Ability to work weekends, nights and holidays as scheduled.

Responsibilities

• Provide perioperative patient care in the intraoperative phase.
• Scrub and circulate on cases independently with minimal direction.
• Prepare for surgical cases and anticipate needs of the team.
• Maintain aseptic technique and safe environment.
• Collect and analyze data to support patient care decisions.
• Communicate effectively with patient, staff, physicians and families.
• Manage room setup and turnover; attend department meetings.
