Job summary

MercyOne Medical Group in Des Moines, IA seeks a Registered Nurse to provide perioperative patient care in the intraoperative phase, serving neonate to geriatric patients in scrub and circulating roles. The role requires call, weekends, nights and holidays as scheduled.

Responsibilities include preparing for cases, maintaining aseptic standards, communicating with the team and families, and directing room turnover.

Qualifications

• Possession of a current or compact state license as a Registered Nurse in Iowa.
• Operating Room experience preferred.
• BLS certification within six weeks of hire from approved bodies.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Scrubs and circulates on cases independently with minimal direction.
• Prepares for surgical cases efficiently, anticipating needs of patient and OR team.
• Maintains aseptic technique and safe environment for patient and staff.
• Collects and analyzes data, supports nursing diagnoses.
• Communicates effectively with patient, staff, physicians and families.
• Manages equipment setup and turnover directions.
