Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a Performance Engineer II - O&M to oversee day-to-day operational activities on active projects. This role can be fully remote or hybrid with regular in-office presence in San Diego, CA or Bend, OR.

You will analyze performance data, coordinate with field teams, and support commissioning, testing, and reporting across solar, storage, and substations. Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field and 4+ years of PV performance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, science, or related technical discipline.
• 4+ years' PV performance engineering or data analytics experience.
• Experience modeling with PVSyst, PlantPredict, SAM, etc.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and other Office tools.
• Programming experience in Python, VBA, MATLAB, Java preferred.
• Travel up to 20% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operational activities of active projects.
• Collaborate with internal teams to collect data for reports and tests.
• On-board active projects into internal Performance Team platforms.
• Track issues and share findings to optimize fleet performance.
• Troubleshoot performance data to identify commissioning challenges.
• Lead a team of Performance Engineers in daily coordination.
• Maintain understanding of site design, equipment and issues.
• Analyze energy losses and system performance due to outages.
• Update client reports: Commissioning Plans, Test Reports, Vitals, forecasts.
• Prioritize field work based on criticality and failures.
• Collaborate with OEMs, technicians, SCADA engineers on issues.
• Support data analytics and software tool development.
• Review performance/operations reports for accuracy.
• Manage plant performance optimization initiatives with teams and client.
• Document procedures for internal reference and training.
