Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a patient access scheduler to register outpatients, verify information, collect co-pays, and update records with high accuracy.

The role schedules appointments, communicates wait times to patients, and collaborates with the Access Center to ensure smooth patient flow. A high school diploma and 0–1 year of experience are required; basic MS Office skills are expected.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 0-1 years related work experience required.
• Experience with computer systems required, including web based applications and some Microsoft Office applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access.

Responsibilities

• Registers all new and established outpatients upon arrival, verifying, collecting co-payments, and updating required information with high accuracy.
• Statuses all appointments at the time of check-in and ensures end-of-day posting of charges.
• Regularly rounds with patients in waiting areas and provides status updates on wait times and changes.
• Monitors waiting areas for cleanliness and appearance.
• Collaborates with the LHMC Access Center to schedule patients and create access; meets productivity standards.
• Manages scheduling work queues and recall lists by calling patients to set up appointments.
