Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health, Inc. is seeking a Patient Access Representative to ensure a welcoming registration experience and accurate data capture for efficient reimbursement. You will handle in person, telephonic, or electronic interactions, supporting patient flow and confidentiality within a fast-paced system.

The role requires high school education, 1–3 years' experience, and familiarity with EHR systems and MS Office. Training is provided; teamwork and patient-focus are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
• 1-3 years related work experience in a healthcare access/registration environment.
• Experience with computer systems including web-based applications and Microsoft Office.
• Strong customer service and communication skills; able to work in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Registers patients, explains the registration process and answers questions.
• Processes co-payments, co-insurance, deductibles, and patient balances; reconciles cash drawer.
• Completes Medicare Secondary Payer questionnaire and updates insurance as needed.
• Obtains signatures on consent and financial documents; scans and records documents.
• Counsels patients on non-covered services and ABNs; ensures patient privacy and safety.
• Maintains neat, secure registration desk and waiting area.
• Schedules and reschedules patient appointments across multiple sources.
• Verifies patient information and insurance coverage; communicates financial clearance status.
