Job summary

Amedisys, part of the Optum family, is seeking a Per Diem Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA). The PTA will work under a licensed Physical Therapist to deliver skilled care in patients’ homes, following individualized treatment plans to improve mobility, strength, balance, and independence at home.

The role requires CAPTE-accredited PTA education, current state PTA license, CPR certification, and 1+ year of PTA home health experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate from CAPTE-accredited PTA program.
• Current license to practice as a PTA in the relevant state.
• Current CPR certification.
• 1+ years of PTA home health care experience.
• If <1 year, approval from regional clinical leaders and mentoring/residency required.
• Driver’s License and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Provides PT services under supervision of a licensed PT.
• Observes and records patient responses to treatment.
• Documents supervision activities and patient progress.
• Participates in care conferences and quality improvement activities.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient information.
• Assists with follow-up care coordination and referrals.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
