Job summary

Amedisys, part of the Optum family, seeks a Physical Therapist Assistant to deliver skilled care in patients' homes under a licensed PT. You will follow a physician-approved plan and work with the care team to promote safety and independence.

You will implement treatment plans, document outcomes, and support patients and caregivers through the recovery journey in a home health setting.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice as a physical therapy assistant (PTA) in the assigned state.
• Graduate from an accredited PTA program as set by CAPTE.
• Current CPR certification.
• 1+ years of PTA experience in home health care or similar setting preferred.
• If less than one year of experience, regional clinical leaders' approval and mentoring/residency participation may be required.
• Driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Provides physical therapy services under supervision of a licensed PT.
• Observes and reports patient responses to treatment.
• Offers resources for future needs and promotes wellness.
• Documents supervisory activities and patient progress.
• Monitors patient responses and participates in care conferences and quality improvement activities.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and coordinates follow-up care with other providers.
