Job summary

Amedisys is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to work in patients' homes under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. You will carry out individualized treatment plans to improve mobility, strength, balance and independence while promoting safety and quality of life at home.

The position requires a current PTA license, CAPTE-accredited education, CPR certification, and 1+ year of home health experience or regional mentoring if less than a year.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice as a physical therapy assistant in the assigned state.
• Graduate from an accredited PTA program per CAPTE.
• Current CPR certification.
• 1+ years in home health PTA preferred; less than a year requires regional approval and mentoring.

Responsibilities

• Provides physical therapy services and interventions under the supervision of a licensed PT.
• Observes and reports patient responses to treatment and any condition changes.
• Promotes wellness and prevention and documents supervisory activities.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient information and coordinates follow-up with the admitting agency.
