Job summary

Amedisys, part of the Optum family, is seeking a Per Diem Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to provide skilled care in patients' homes under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist. You will implement individualized treatment plans to improve mobility, strength, balance, and independence while ensuring safety and coordination with patients, caregivers, and the care team.

Pay range includes $52,417–$78,625 annual total cash target pay, $30.24–$45.36 per visit point, and $25.20–$37.80

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited physical therapy assistant educational program as set by CAPTE.
• Current license to practice as a PTA in the assigned state.
• Current CPR certification.
• One year related physical therapy experience for PTAs entering home health care.
• If less than one year of experience, approval from regional clinical leaders is required and appropriate mentoring or residency may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provides physical therapy services under the direction and supervision of a physical therapist.
• Observes and reports patient response to treatment and any changes in condition.
• Provides resources for future needs and promotes wellness and prevention.
• Documents supervisory activities in the patient’s medical record.
• Monitors and documents patient response to PT intervention.
• Participates in patient care conferences and quality improvement activities.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient information.
• Makes recommendations for follow-up care and coordinates with other providers.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
