Job summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking a Clinician for the Boston Emergency Services Team (BEST) in the Psychiatry department. This per diem role focuses on telephone screening, crisis triage, and coordinating admissions for psychiatric patients in the greater Boston area.

Under supervision of the Clinical Director of BEST, you will document calls, coordinate referrals, and maintain knowledge of local inpatient and outpatient resources.

Qualifications

• Master's degree as specified in the job posting.
• Experience in emergency psychiatry or crisis intervention is preferred.
• Strong ability to assess and triage psychiatric crises via telephone.

Responsibilities

• Provide telephone screening and intake for BEST program participants.
• Perform telephone triage for individuals in psychiatric crisis and refer to appropriate resources.
• Document calls and actions accurately in client records.
• Identify appropriate inpatient settings under clinical supervision and coordinate admissions.
• Maintain up-to-date roster of inpatient units and liaise with MBHP/DMH and referring agencies.
