Job summary

Interlochen Center for the Arts is seeking a Manager of Volunteer & Employee Experience (Year-Round) to lead the volunteer program and enhance the employee experience across Interlochen's campus. The role blends strategic program design with hands-on logistics, including housing, events, and communications.

The ideal candidate will have a BA/BS and at least 3+ years in volunteer management or employee engagement, with strong interpersonal and data-driven capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Communications, Nonprofit Management, Arts Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience in volunteer management, employee engagement, event coordination, or related function.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent programs with competing deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; experience producing newsletters/payments.

Responsibilities

• Design, manage, and improve Interlochen's volunteer program infrastructure and opportunities.
• Lead volunteer recruitment, onboarding, orientation, and compliance, including background check administration.
• Develop and maintain the volunteer communications calendar and newsletters.
• Coordinate volunteer orientations and be the primary contact for active volunteers.
• Plan and execute Volunteer Appreciation Events and report KPIs quarterly.
• Oversee summer camp housing assignment logistics for residential employees in partnership with HR and campus operations.
• Develop and execute the annual employee engagement calendar and staff events.
• Co-chair the Fun Committee and act as HR's culture champion.
• Produce the HR employee newsletter and maintain editorial calendar.
• Support the annual engagement action plan.
