Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate level degree required; bachelor’s preferred in related fields.
• Minimum 2 years coordinating volunteers, engagement, or nonprofit administration.
• Museum or nonprofit experience preferred.
• Strong ability to recruit, train, and retain volunteers.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement volunteer recruitment strategies.
• Recruit, interview, onboard, orient, and train volunteers.
• Coordinate volunteer schedules, coverage, and communications.
• Partner with department leaders to identify staffing needs.
• Maintain accurate volunteer records and training documentation.
• Coordinate volunteer appreciation and recognition initiatives.
• Ensure volunteers follow museum policies and safety procedures.
• Respond to volunteer questions and provide timely follow-up.
• Prepare reports on participation, coverage, and program effectiveness.
• Foster engagement and retention through consistent support and recognition.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
