Job summary

Cooper Steel of Ohio is seeking a proactive Human Resource Manager to support the Shop Management team. You will lead recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, training, benefits, and engagement initiatives while promoting a positive work environment.

You will collaborate with leaders to implement HR policies, maintain records in the HRIS, and drive culture and people initiatives essential to our growing team in Ohio.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business management or a related field preferred.
• At least 2-5 years of HR experience.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.
• High attention to detail, sound judgment, and excellent problem-solving ability.
• A positive, self-motivated attitude and a passion for helping others succeed.

Responsibilities

• Establish credibility with leadership and employees to listen and solve problems.
• Apply HR policies and guidelines consistently.
• Manage recruiting and onboarding, including postings, interviews, and orientation.
• Plan employee engagement activities to strengthen culture and morale.
• Lead culture and training initiatives for the Shop Management team.
• Manage leave of absence cases.
• Maintain employee records and reports in the HRIS.
• Communicate and guide management and staff as needed.
• Adapt to changing priorities and business needs.
• Other duties as assigned.
