Job summary

Miami Neuroscience Institute Baptist Health South Florida seeks an RN for the UCC Nursing Float Pool. You will plan and deliver care using nursing processes, assess patients, and document in the EMR while coordinating with physicians.

The role requires BLS, PALS, Florida RN license, and 1 year pediatric ED/UCC experience. You will float to multiple urgent care centers, supervise care, and ensure safety and evidence-based practice.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in Florida or multi-state license.
• Active BLS certification; PALS within 2 years.
• CPI training required within 180 days of hire.
• BSN degree or current BSN enrollment.
• 1 year pediatric ED/UCC/ICU experience preferred.
• PEARS completion within two years; strong EMR skills.

Responsibilities

• Communicate patient progress and discharge instructions.
• Complete intakes with vitals, symptoms and history.
• Delegate nursing care based on staff competency.
• Perform intake assessment on emergency patients.
• Administer meds, IV hydration, and respiratory support.
• Coordinate EMTALA transfers to higher care.
• Obtain parental immunization consent per policy.
• Assist physicians in procedures as needed.
• Follow medication administration rights and policies.
• Assess IV sites after removal for complications.
• Ensure safe analgesia/narcotics administration.
• Document in EMR within 24 hours.
• Discuss plan of care with patients/families; address concerns.
• Provide patient/family education on health needs.
• Maintain SBAR hand-offs and infection prevention.
• Meet unit standards and regulatory requirements.
• Supervise behavioral health patients; CPI safety practices.
