Job summary

Nicklaus Children’s Hospital in Miami, FL is seeking a dedicated RN for the UCC Float Pool. You will plan and deliver patient care using nursing processes, oversee the plan of care, and collaborate with the physician team to uphold Magnet-designated hospital standards.

Qualifications

• RN Licensure in Florida or eNLC – active and in good standing
• American Heart Association BLS – active and in good standing
• American Heart Association PALS within 2 years of hire
• CPI certification within 180 days of hire
• BSN degree or enrolled in BSN program
• 1 year of RN experience in Pediatric ED/UCC/ICU preferred

Responsibilities

• Communicates patient progress including critical findings with physician and care team
• Completes intake assessments with vitals, weight, height, symptoms, and history
• Delivers nursing care per physician orders and six rights of medication administration
• Prepares and coordinates transfers for EMTALA cases
• Documents in EMR within 24 hours and maintains accurate records
• Provides patient/family education on health needs and care plan
• Floats to other urgent care centers as needed while ensuring quality care
