Job summary

Nicklaus Children's Health System in Florida seeks an experienced RN to support the Urgent Care Center as part of the Nursing Float Pool. You will lead nursing care using established protocols, document care in the EMR, and coordinate discharge planning with physicians and families.

The role requires Florida RN licensure, BLS, and a BSN or active enrollment in a BSN program. Certification in PALS and CPI within required timelines is expected, with PEARS within two years.

Qualifications

• RN license in Florida (or multi-state eNLC) in good standing.
• Active CPR/BLS; PALS required within 2 years of hire.
• CPI certification within 180 days of hire.
• PEARS certification within two years of hire.
• Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
• BSN degree or current enrollment in a BSN program.
• 1 year pediatric ED/UCC or ICU experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Communicates patient progress with physicians and care team; documents discharge instructions.
• Performs intake assessment including vital signs, weight, symptoms, and history.
• Delegates nursing care based on staff qualifications.
• Administers medications per physician orders and follows six rights.
• Maintains accurate documentation in the EMR within 24 hours.
• Provides patient and family education on health needs.
• Float to different UCC sites as needed; ensures safe care delivery.
