Job summary

Nicklaus Children's Health System in Miami, FL seeks a Nursing professional for the Urgent Care Center (UCC) Float Pool. You’ll plan and deliver care using nursing processes, monitor patient status, and collaborate with physicians and teams to ensure high-quality, family-centered care.

The role requires BSN or enrollment in BSN, Florida RN licensure, and BLS; PALS within 2 years and CPI within 180 days are expected.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in Florida or Multi-State Compact.
• BLS certification maintained per policy.
• PALS required within 2 years of hire.
• CPI training within 180 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Communicates patient progress and changes in condition with physicians and care team.
• Performs intake assessments including vital signs, weight, symptoms and history.
• Delegates nursing care based on staff qualifications and competency.
• Performs intake assessment on emergency patients.
• Administers medications per physician orders and follows six rights of medication administration.
• Assists in procedures and follows physician orders.
• Ensures accurate documentation in the EHR within 24 hours.
• Demonstrates patient and family education and counseling.
