Job summary

Nicklaus Children's in Miami seeks an RN to deliver family-centered care in the Urgent Care Center, following nursing processes and evidence-based practice.

You will assess patients, administer medications, document within 24 hours, and coordinate transfers as needed; float to other UCCs as required.

A collaborative team environment with a focus on safety, education, and quality standards in a Magnet-designated hospital.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in Florida or eNLC in good standing.
• AHA BLS in good standing throughout employment.
• AHA PALS within 2 years of hire; maintain active status.
• CPI certification required within 180 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Communicate patient's progress with physician and care team; discharge instructions provided.
• Conduct intakes and prepare patients for triage with vitals, symptoms, and history.
• Delegate nursing tasks based on staff competency and qualification.
• Perform intake assessment on emergencies and follow orders for meds and IV hydration.
• Plan and coordinate transfers to higher care levels as needed (EMTALA).
• Obtain parental immunization consent per policy and assist procedures.
• Follow medications policy; review labs and administer meds as ordered.
• Document accurately in the EMR within 24 hours and maintain chart integrity.
• Educate patients and families about health needs; promote safety and infection control.
• Float to other UCCs as needed while maintaining clinical excellence.
