Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago is hiring a Patient Service Representative II in Streeterville, Chicago. The role requires two years in clinical offices, strong communication and multitasking abilities, and solid knowledge of insurance and managed care.

The position offers a competitive hourly rate ($19.50–$30.23) with comprehensive benefits and opportunities to grow within the Patient Services team.

Qualifications

High school graduate; some college preferred.
Minimum two years’ experience in clinics or physician office environment.
Knowledge of insurance coverages and managed care requirements.
Excellent communication/listening skills. Ability to make quick, accurate decisions daily.
Ability to handle stressful situations.
Computer skills with Microsoft Outlook.
Sufficient interpersonal skills to work with pediatric patients, families, physicians and staff.
Ability to multitask and make decisions in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

Performs all tasks of the Patient Service Representative I role including pre-registration and full registration.
Serves as a resource and mentor for staff during clinic hours.
Handles escalated or complicated issues with workflows.
Mentors staff to assure consistent department operations.
Epic Super User and Epic tester responsibilities.
Develops Standard Operating Procedures and cross-trains in all operations.
Participates in quality improvement activities.
Monitors cash drawer and deposits as appropriate.
Orders supplies for area scope and maintains sessions logs for billing.
