Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago is seeking a detail-oriented patient services professional to manage front-desk communications, scheduling, and registration tasks.

The role requires a high school diploma and 2+ years in a healthcare or general office setting, with proficiency in Word and Outlook. The position involves patient data collection, insurance verification, referrals in Epic, and providing accurate information while maintaining HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; some college preferred.
• General office or healthcare experience (2+ years) required.
• Some knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Proficiency in Word and basic computer skills expected.
• Strong customer service, communication and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Answer multiple divisional phone calls and scheduling tasks.
• Respond to hospital questions and route messages in the system.
• Schedule new and return appointments using guidelines and tools.
• Collect patient demographic info and verify insurance.
• Transcribe referrals in Epic and manage clinical triage referrals.
• Assist families with communication, MyChart enrollment, and portal use.
• Maintain performance metrics and ensure quality service.
• Identify and obtain referrals for scheduled services.
• Review outstanding patient liabilities as appropriate.
• Uphold confidentiality and HIPAA regulations; train new staff as needed.
