Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago is seeking a Patient Service Representative in the Glenview area to support pre-registration, eligibility checks, and insurance processing.

The role involves high-volume patient interaction, coordinating appointments, and using Epic EMR to manage orders and communications with families. The position requires a high school diploma (some college preferred) and strong customer service skills.

Formación

• High school diploma or GED required; some college preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, third party billing, and managed care preferred.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR).
• Proficiency in MS Word/Outlook and basic computer skills expected.
• Excellent communication and listening skills with patients, families, and staff.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment; manage stress effectively.

Responsabilidades

• Complete pre-registration and full registration for families as needed.
• Ensure eligibility information is accurate.
• Obtain consents and enter into Epic as required.
• Utilize EpicCare Link and MyChart queries for visits.
• Assist families with referrals for same-day service when possible.
• Collect payments and explain charges (estimates, copays, balances).
• Print insurance cards and provide intake forms and instructions.
• Provide ID bands and communicate wait times to families.
• Schedule appointments and manage various clinics and orders.
• Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
