Job summary

Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago is seeking a Patient Service Representative to handle front-desk registrations, eligibility checks, and patient communications in a pediatric care setting.

This role requires strong customer service, multitasking, and familiarity with Epic systems. The position involves coordinating registrations, obtaining consent forms, and guiding families through the visit workflow, including insurance and payments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; some college preferred.
• Some knowledge of medical terminology, third party billing, and managed care requirements preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Outlook; strong communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Complete pre-registration and full registration for families.
• Verify eligibility information and obtain consents (HIPAA, forms) and enter into Epic.
• Assist with referrals, collect payments, and handle patient communications and scheduling.
• Enter patient data in Epic and other systems; maintain accurate records and ensure smooth check-in/out.
