Job summary

Newark Beth Israel Medical Center is seeking an experienced RN for the Pediatric Float Pool (NICU/PICU/Peds) on the night shift. The role emphasizes comprehensive assessments, coordinated care, and family education within RWJBarnabas Health’s pediatric programs.

The position requires NJ RN licensure, BLS, and strong clinical judgment; a Bachelor’s in Nursing is preferred and EPIC EMR experience is a plus. Work hours include 7p-7:30a with weekends and holidays on a rotating basis.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey RN license in good standing.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing strongly preferred.
• Prior patient care experience ideally in emergency room nursing and familiarity with EPIC EMR.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize subtle clinical changes.
• Provide safe, evidence-based medications, treatments, and hands-on care.
• Serve as a clinical partner to physicians and advanced providers to coordinate care.
• Educate patients and families clearly and compassionately.
• Document accurately in the EMR to promote continuity and safety.
• Contribute to interdisciplinary rounds and transitions of care.
• Support a collaborative team environment and pursue ongoing professional growth.
• Adhere to safety protocols and hospital policies.
