Job summary
Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in Newark, NJ is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Pediatric Float Pool (NICU/PICU/Peds). This night-shift, hourly role offers teamwork, safety, and opportunities for professional growth within RWJBarnabas Health.
Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessments, safe medication administration, care coordination with physicians, family education, precise EMR documentation (EPIC), and active participation in rounds.
Qualifications
- Active New Jersey RN license in good standing and BLS certification.
- BSN preferred; prior pediatric ER/ED or NICU/PICU experience is a plus.
- Experience with EPIC EMR is desirable.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize subtle changes.
- Administer medications and provide hands-on care with clinical judgment.
- Collaborate with physicians and advanced providers for coordinated care.
- Educate patients and families to ensure understanding of next care steps.
- Document accurately in the EMR to support continuity of care.
- Contribute to interdisciplinary rounds and promote effective communication.
- Promote teamwork and participate in ongoing professional development.
