Job summary

Newark Beth Israel Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Pediatric Float Pool (NICU/PICU/Peds) on the night shift. This role emphasizes clinical excellence, teamwork, and continuous improvement within RWJBarnabas Health.

The RN will perform comprehensive assessments, administer care, coordinate with physicians, and document in EPIC, with a focus on pediatric subspecialties in a high-quality environment.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey RN license in good standing.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing strongly preferred.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Prior ER/acute care nursing experience preferred.
• Experience with electronic medical record systems (EPIC).

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize subtle clinical changes; intervene early and advocate for patients.
• Administer safe, evidence-based medications and hands-on care.
• Collaborate with physicians and advanced providers to support timely care decisions.
• Provide clear, compassionate education to patients and families.
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation in the EMR to promote continuity and safety.
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds to ensure effective communication and transitions of care.
• Contribute to a collaborative team environment with shared accountability.
• Pursue ongoing professional growth through education and ladder opportunities.
