Job summary

Newark Beth Israel Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Pediatric Float Pool (NICU/PICU/Peds) with night shifts. The role requires an active NJ RN license, BLS, and preferably a BSN. EPIC experience is desired, with a 36-hour work week and rotating weekends/holidays.

The Pediatric Float Pool serves multiple pediatric subspecialties within RWJBarnabas Health. The RN will perform assessments, administer evidence-based care, document thoroughly, and collaborate with physicians to

Qualifications

Active New Jersey RN license in good standing required.
BLS certification required.
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing strongly preferred.
Prior patient care experience, ideally in ER.
Experience with electronic medical records (EPIC).
Night shift 7:00 PM–7:30 AM with rotating weekends and holidays.
Work week is 36 hours.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize subtle clinical changes.
Provide safe, evidence-based medications and hands-on care.
Partner with physicians and providers to support timely care decisions.
Educate patients and families clearly and compassionately.
Ensure accurate documentation in the electronic medical record.
Contribute to interdisciplinary rounds and seamless care transitions.
Promote a collaborative team environment and ongoing professional growth.
