Job summary

Penn State Health's Pediatric ICU in Hershey seeks a Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner capable of progressing to a high level of autonomy. You will deliver direct patient care in a busy critical care environment, working with physicians, fellows, residents, and nurses to provide specialty care to critically ill children.

You will manage ventilation, ECMO, CRRT, and even bone marrow transplants while ensuring education for residents and staff.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Critical Care or Acute Care NP is required.
• Minimum of one year CRNP experience, including clinical rotations.
• Three years of critical care experience as a staff nurse required.
• Licensed as CRNP by the Pennsylvania Board of Nurse Examiners.
• National certification as an advanced practice nurse is required.
• ACLS and Basic Cardiopulmonary Life Support are required; acute CC focus preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the Pediatric ICU with autonomous practice under collaboration.
• Care for neurosurgical, surgical, trauma, hematology/oncology, nephrology, pulmonology, cardiac patients.
• Manage all modes of mechanical ventilation, ECMO, and CRRT; perform bone marrow transplants.
• Educate and instruct residents, nurses, students, and other healthcare professionals.
