Job summary

Shriners Children’s Spokane is seeking an Appointment Coordinator to join our pediatric specialty team. You will accurately schedule appointments, enter data into the computerized system, answer calls, and direct inquiries to the appropriate area, ensuring smooth clinic flow.

Ideal candidates have a High School Diploma or GED and at least 1 year of scheduling/registration experience including insurance verification, with preference for medical secretary background.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year scheduling, registration and insurance verification experience.
• 1 year medical secretary experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Scheduling, rescheduling, creating ad-hoc appointments, check-in & check-out and changing appointment status.
• Registration, quick/trauma admit, discharge and downtime conversion.
• Utilizing PowerChart for patient information, orders matrix and schedule tab.
• Cross trained to relieve other scheduling positions as assigned.
• Prepares and completes medical record review including analysis, documentation, and physician order completion.
• Receives, assesses and routes telephone calls.
